West Lancs Mark Motorcycle Group Meeting No.3

The third meeting of the group took place at Wellington Park on Saturday May 28th with six present and four apologies. Things are progressing and it has been decided on the flowing Officers of the Group. The President is RWBro. K.A. Beardmore PGM, the Chairman W.Bro. Barry Hesketh, the treasurer Bro. Iain Wilson, and Founding Secretary WBro. C. Mills.

A Facebook page has been set up, on a secret site, i.e. not open to one and all.

The Treasurer is to establish the cost of Associate membership of the BMF to cover group riding for Insurance purposes, and once this has been established an annual subscription will be decided upon.

Following the meeting four members went for a run out, Bill Smith had to return to Ulverston, we travelled to Stainforth, via Clitheroe, Waddington and Newton as well as many scenic places in between. At Stainforth we found an excellent café, which served very fine home made food including bacon butties (to die for), this together with beautiful weather and being near to the river made for an excellent location.

We did a loop back through Witton Hills, Lane Ends, Grindleton and West Bradford and thence back on the A59 towards Preston. Once near Preston the traffic ground to a halt as the M6 was blocked and everything was leaving it at every opportunity. Barry Hesketh and myself headed for The Capitol Centre leaving the A59 and going down passed the Brewery, but got caught up in the M-way traffic at Bamber Bridge, and it was very slow going until we cleared the road works on Farington Moss, where we skirted Leyland and returned to the A59 at the Toll Booth Roundabout near Tarleton. A really enjoyable run was had by all, and thanks to Iain Wilson for leading it.
